Betrayal

“Those closest to us are always the ones to betray us.”

The biggest hurts are always caused by the ones who we thought would never hurt us. The biggest betrayals, by the ones who we thought would always be on our side. Our worst enemies always turn out to be our closest, bestest of friends.

Recently I found out that someone I thought would be (see that word – would) a lifelong friend, replaced me within a year with another ‘best’ friend at a time where I was speaking to her major time. I felt as if I was worthless, as if my efforts were simply pointless. What was I thinking, to try and keep a friendship I'd had for so long? Then I remembered that everything on this earth is fleeting. But it didn’t hurt any less despite this knowledge.

I wish that none of this was true, but it is… well at least the first two for my life. I’m yet to experience the third, but it’s not like I have a best friend anyway. But as I said at the top;
