Never Give Up
Hi guys, sorry for the lack of posts. To be honest it’s been
a very busy and strenuous time in my life. With many new beginnings being
begun, I just didn’t have the time (or energy in fact!) to write any posts. But
I’m back and with advice on tough situations.
So here in England, we are in the first term of school. And as
everyone does, I have moved up a year, but this time it was a big leap. I moved
to a new school and on top of that, have started my A-levels. So I don’t have
one, but to major changes in my life. Apart from the stress of choosing what to
wear every morning (I’m now really appreciating the beauty of uniforms), I had
to adapt to the fact that I only have four subjects with a tonne load of work
for each. To say I wasn’t prepared is an understatement. I’m literally
crumbling underneath the weight of the work and I’m only five weeks into the
school year.
Through this stress I have found that not all things are as
they seem to be. I chose history as I wish to further my knowledge on ancient
history when at Uni (hopefully). Now that I have started the course, I truly
wish that I had chosen something else as I am dreading the rest of the year in the
subject. The issue is that for me to get into Unit to study history I NEED an
A-level in the subject, so it’s not like I can drop it (unfortunately). Through
this realisation, I knew that I was going to have to stick at the subject
because of my passion to further study it at Uni. This is only a hurdle in my
journey to learning about something that I am passionate about.
Life is full of obstacles that always get in the way at the wrong
time. The best thing about them is that you can learn and grow from the troubles.
I have learnt that you have your aim, and if you truly want to succeed you will
never give because you want it that bad. It may feel as if it is pointless but the
prize at the end is worth it. Just never give up. Look on the bright side and
see that you are honoured to have the opportunities you have because there are
many others who want to be in your shoes who are near and far.
Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you
were working for the Lord rather than for people. Colossians 3:23 NLT
This verse was truly a wakeup call when I read it on my Instagram.
It reminded me that all I do is not for myself but for my Father. He provided
me with the opportunity to aim for my dream and that though the road is rocky I
should trust in the Him (Proverbs 3:5-6). No matter what you are going through,
giving up will just not cut it as it doesn’t bring happiness to you or those
around you.
Remember, after every trial, there is a tribulation :)
