The Fault In Our Stars (TFIOS!!!)
Hi guys!!! :)
On the June 12th I was fortunate enough to have been able to
see The Fault In Our Stars a week before the actual release in the UK. To be
honest I really don't know what to say. But I absolutely adored it. I would
recommend it to anyone.
As a fan of the book, naturally I was worried that the film
adaptation may ruin the book. But luckily I was assured throughout the filming
stages by john green that it was true to the book. And it was!!! Not many book
to film adaptations work out, but this was the bestly (I know it’s not a word)
executed one by far. It stayed so true to the book that it felt like I was
reading the book in pictures. It was amazing.
When I first read the book, I’ll be honest, I cried... a
lot. I went into the cinema expecting the full water works but was surprised to
find that I didn't cry half as much as when I first read the book. Personally I
felt this is down to knowing what was going to happen next, due to have read the
book beforehand. It was still an emotional movie that kept you buried in your seat;
it made you laugh and cry and sometimes both. It touched your heart in so many
ways, it’s worth the money. The acting was brilliant, faultless. It was so good
that I feel in love with all the characters from the book even more than I did
before and I fell in love with the actors.
Due to it being an early screening, there obviously some
special extras involved. Well... there was a special message from john green at
the beginning (obviously not in person) and there was an exclusively recorded
interviewed screened after the movie. There was also the all important airport
scene with john green. Apart from the extra footage, we got special TFIOS
passes and all exclusive posters (that take up half my wall ;)).
I couldn't be happier that I got this opportunity, thanks to
my besties who gave me the best b'day pressie.
I would recommend this movie to anyone and everyone. I feel that
it is just that good. Hopefully this semi review encourages you to watch the
film (but I would strongly encourage you read the book before watching the movie)
Ellah xx;)
