Inspirational - February Wrap Up
This month, I was astounded by how many
inspiration YouTube videos that I watched. So here are the ones that most hit
me.
Casper shocked me with this one. He is usually known to be
the type to not be serious as he is always out there to make you laugh. He
breeches the topic of addiction and how it isn’t as simple as most people like
to believe it is. It is much more complex, and we should really approach it
with more caution and try to help those who need our help. We have all seen
what addiction has done to some of the most influential people in the world.
For example, Michael Jackson’s death was caused because he was addicted to
medication after constantly being on meds for years. He explains how difficult
it is to be in the addict’s position in such a way that everyone could
understand and the video really left me with a different attitude towards
addiction.
Jonah Green also breached the topic of addiction, an
addiction that most of us are unaware of. The addiction to our phones. Watching
this video made me realise that I wasn’t alone in thinking I was addicted to my
phone. The truth is that we all think we aren’t addicts as we normally
associate addiction with drugs and alcohol, but an addiction can be to
anything. The only difference is that our smart phones are a part of our
everyday life, so it isn’t as noticeable. But the truth is it IS noticeable.
Our generation have become soooooo much more unsociable and the older
generations have noticed this and are constantly trying to point it out, but
being the stubborn teens that we are, we ignore them. Jonah points out how
there is more to life than our phones.

This video, by the Representation Project highlights how
much expectations we have on children from the moment they are conceived. We
expect girls to be a certain way, and when they are not, we pester them about
it or try to force to be what we, ourselves believe to be the “norm” or what
society tells us every boy or girl has to be like. We are always preaching to
everyone, it’s better to be yourself, but do we really let our children be
themselves? Maybe we should change the stereotypes on what colours girls wear
when they are little, maybe we should stop saying blue is for boys. Maybe, just
maybe we should stop labelling everything so that it has a certain gender it is
meant for. God made us all as equals, man and women alike. So we should start
acting like that, like we are equals. We should change society as it is, coz as
I see it, society is only gonna go downhill even with equality acts being put
in place. We will only be equal and act like who we are when we start treating
each other as equals and with the respect we deserve. Without society’s
thoughts on how things should be.
I only just subscribed to this channel, and it wasn’t even
for vlogs but her book reviews. I was thoroughly surprised when I watched this
video and just felt that everyone needs to read this because it is soo true. We
need to start changing how we think about everything, coz the way we think at
the moment is just plain wrong, and leads us to ruining our lives even more
than they need to be ruined.
I hope these videos touched you as much as they touched me
when I watched them.
Ellah xx
